MEI testing is crucial

MEI DVD VERIFIER AND ECLIPSE IMAGE ANALYSIS® CHECK COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FILE SYSTEMS - There is almost no overlap in what they verify. Both verification tests are recommended to insure all systems are go for submission to the replication facility.

MEI details an array of information about a particular DVD's DVD-Video File system (in the VIDEO_TS folder), and can flag a wide assortment of issues. Trai has compiled a database over the years on various flagged issues to be concerned about.
TESTING IN PLAYERS - The industry has used this type of hit or miss testing as a fall back to get some semblance of expectancy regarding how a DVD will behave out there. New Constellation Technologies tests DVDs with the MEI DVD-Video Verifier, as a crucial compliment to player bank testing, for a more complete and accurate picture of the discs quality.

New Constellation Technologies maintains a bank of 145 players. These players are used in conjunction to the core competency of our File System Analysis.
'HOLES' IN AUTHORING SYSTEMS - Every available DVD Authoring system out there has settings in their interface that by themselves, or in combination with other GUI actions, can throw a DVD Project out of spec compliance, affecting the final DVD's compatibility (DVD Studio Pro® is notorious and even Sonic™ Scenarist has specification flaws, in this regard).

The MEI DVD-Video Verifier can spot certain of these errors with the DVD authoring systems output, assisting New Constellation Technologies in helping you insure a spec compliant Image is delivered to the replication facility.
AUTHORING SYSTEM UPDATES - Major revisions by the authoring system manufacturers (and even minor ones) are usually replete with mistakes, due to not enough testing and less than thorough trouble-shooting before the revision's release. This almost always results in something getting "broken", or one or more of the new features not working correctly in all scenarios. MEI DVD-Video Verification is one of the tools New Constellation Technologies uses to help immediately spot these issues.
DVD Production Studios use a wide assortment of tools to create DVDs. Some of these utilities will throw a DVD project out of specification out right, and should not be used (or even recommended to be used on public internet discussion groups, as they are regularly).
Asset addition: Various authoring systems can easily be thrown out of compliance, and introduce player incompatibilities simply due to how assets have been added to them. The MEI DVD-Video Verifier regularly flags these breaches immediately.
Project corruption: The MEI DVD-Video Verifier is also handy at pinpointing errors introduced in authoring system output due to errors creeping in over the course of the months of saving and even moving the files from machine to machine (this is a biggie, we've found over the years).
NO REPLICATION FACILITY, even the 'good ones', will check your DVD-Video file structure embedded in the Image for DVD Specification compliance.
